Posted by Jacy Meador Category: News

Who are you and where are you from?
Chris Colston, from Lindale, TX.

What is something you do before you take the stage?
Warm up my vocals, sip on a whiskey sour and say a little prayer.

Who is your celebrity crush?
Sophia Bush, AKA Brooke Davis from One Tree Hill

What is your go-to fast food restaurant while on the road?
Whataburger- Hands down.

If you could sing a duet with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Ronnie Van Zant from Lynyrd Skynyrd.

What makes you laugh out loud?
My bass player- J-Bone.

Name an artist from any genre besides country that you are a huge fan of and why.
Charlie Starr from Blackberry Smoke. He is a phenomenal front man, and the complete package. He plays lead guitar, is lead vocals, and has an incredible stage presence with such a cool southern rock voice.

What’s one song on your playlist you never skip and why?
“Let the Rain Come Down.” By The Steel Woods because it thumps so hard and the opening dobro lick makes you have a stank face. It sounds so dirty, and good.

What is your favorite song you’ve ever written and why?
Probably “Gone” because it has given us the most success and was the first of my songs that really connected with people.

What are you most excited about for your very first MusicFest?
I’ve dreamed of playing The MusicFest since I started following the bigger guys in the scene, like Randy, Wade and Stony, who have been playing it for years. I always said I would never go until I played it. I’m ready to experience It with literally EVERYONE in this scene, catch some of my favorite bands and hangout with all the people I’ve built relationships with out on the road, but most of all to mark off my personal bucket list and enjoy it with the guys I love most—My band.
